BCS hasn't received a huge fan-following as Breaking Bad, and that’s because this story doesn’t render itself to heroic moments like in BB. Yet, the performance of Bob Odenkrik makes it unmissable.
If Breaking Bad is about the descent of a neighbourhood chemistry teacher into the menacing Heisenberg, Better Call Saul is about the struggle of a petty criminal Jimmy to become a decent lawyer.
Saul Goodman is currently going by the name Gene Takovic in a shopping mall in Nebraska. But changing his name is not a new task for our Slipping Jimmy.
Gilligan is known for sketching intriguing characters. Chuck McGill, played by Michael McKean, is a terrific creation of the director, which will leave you devastated and angry at the same time.
Wonder how Gus Fring set up an underground fully-equipped meth lab without the world knowing it? Better Call Saul has the answer, and it is ingenious.
The taciturn Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad has a lot to say in this show as he is one of the main characters. There’s a reason why Mike became cold and moody fixer, and it is heartbreaking.
Not just Mike, Don Hector Salamanca also does a lot more than just ringing his bell. In fact, not Gus Fring, Hector is the most spine-chilling character of Better Call Saul.
BCS world is populated by more complex characters like Jimmy’s girlfriend Kim (played by Rhea Seehorn) and the protagonist initial competition Hamlin McGill (played by Patrick Fabian).
With Walter White’s cameo in El Camino, the speculation of Walter and Jesse Pinkman returning for BCS has gotten stronger, and you wouldn't want to miss it.
Like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul also plays with the notions of good and bad. It treads that grey area beautifully, and it will fill the void Breaking Bad has left you with.
