Gautham Menon: Uyirae Vaa, composed by Dharan Kumar, is already a hit on YouTube garnering about 84 thousand views. Earlier, Gautam has also sung a number in Radha Mohan’s Uppu Karuvadu.

Selvaraghvan: The Kadhal Konden director teamed up with his brother Dhanush to give one of the popular soup songs - Kadhal En Kadhal from Mayakkam Enna.

K Bhagyaraj: The veteran has admitted that dancing is something he dreads. However, he doesn’t share the same fear for music. He composed and sang the number Pachai Malai from Idhu Namma Aaalu.

Bharathiraja: Even with his hoarse voice iconic director crooned the hit number Kaadu Potta Kaadu, which captured the tone of his career-defining film Karuthamma.

Dharani: It is not common knowledge that Ghilli director sang the song Tharu Maru from Karan’s Uchathula Siva.

Magizh Thirumeni: The Thadam director’s deep voice not only made him a dubbing artist for Imaikka Nodigal, it also turned him into a singer for the film. He lent his voice for the song Lion Vs Hyena.

Mysskin: From Acham Thavir to Ivan Thupparivaalan, Mysskin has sung for many of his films including Yudham Sei and Mugamoodi.

Rajiv Menon: The cinematographer-turned-director Rajiv Menon also turned a singer for the film Jayaram’s Naina. He crooned the song Kichu Kichu, composed by Sabesh-Murali duo.

Sundar C: The Mettukdi director sang the remix version of the classic song Vadi En Kappa Kizhange in his film Sandai. Later in 2010, he sang the number Subbaiyaa Subbaiyaa from his film Guru Shishyan.

T Rajendar: The multi-faceted personality has done everything under the sun when it comes to filmmaking, and no wonder he became a playback singer. He has sung many songs including Raangu from Theri.

Vignesh Shivan: The Poda Podi director is well-known for his catchy lyrics but he also got the singing credit for the song Orey Oru from Nayanthara’s Kolamaavu Kokila.

SJ Suryah: The director SJ Suryah has not only sang songs but has also composed the entire album of his suspense thriller Isai. He has crooned for a handful of songs including Iraivi’s Onnu Rendu.
