The series is directed by ace filmmaker Gautham Menon and Kidari-maker Prasath Murugesan.

Shakthi Seshadri, a student of Church Park school and state topper in 10th std public exams, is played by Yennai Arindhaal and Viswasam fame Anikha Surendran

Shakthi in her twenties is portrayed by Anjana Jayaprakash, who was earlier seen in a supporting role in Karthick Naren's Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru.

Ramya Krishnan plays the part from her late thirties to her steep rise up the political ladder.

Queen is Gautham Menon’s first directorial project for an OTT platform. And he seems to have not used his usual style of first-person narration.

Queen is written by Reshma Ghattala, who was one of the founding members of GVM's production company, Photon Khathaas.

The trailer gives you an insight into the mind of the reluctant actor, and her struggles in becoming a successful politician.

Indrajith Sukumaran plays GMR, an actor turned successful politician, who enters into a relationship with Shakthi

Vamsi Krishna plays another popular actor operating during the period.

The trailer opens with a Simi Garewal-esque introduction. Shakthi Seshadri (Ramya Krishnan) is introduced as a “fearless leader.

But, one cannot do justice to Jayalalithaa’s life story by overlooking her decorated career as a film star.

The trailer outlines the story of Jayalalithaa that we already know. That she was asked to drop out of school by her mother to become an actor.

That she was reluctant to pursue a career in show business.

Director Mani Ratnam covered most of it in Iruvar (1997). But, it is really exciting to see what the makers of Queen have in store for the audience.

Ramya Krishnan shares an eerie resemblance to a young Jayalalithaa. It is by far the best we have seen so far among the actors who are playing the late actor-politician onscreen.

GVM has also played a cameo as a director in the webseries.

Queen will have 11 episodes, and is all set to premiere on MX Player from December 14.

Meanwhile, director Vijay is already making a biopic on Jayalalithaa, titled Thalaivi, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead.

Priyadhaarshini is also working on a feature film based on the life story Tamil Nadu politician with Nithya Menen, which is titled as The Iron Lady.
