Mrunal Thakur, who was last seen in the light-hearted romcom Do Deewane Seher Mein, will next be seen in a completely different avatar in the upcoming ZEE5 thriller Pooja Meri Jaan. The official trailer of the film, which will premiere on October 2, was unveiled on Thursday.

Directed by Navjot Gulati, Pooja Meri Jaan promises to be a grim thriller, capturing the story of its eponymous protagonist who finds herself at the centre of a public witch-hunt, after her friend Aniket (Vikram Singh Chauhan) dies by suicide after being romantically rejected her her. While she finds support in her lawyer friend (Huma Qureshi), circumstances and evidences increasingly begin to mount against her, painting her as a morally evil woman, even if not a criminal. 

As the investigation proceeds, and Pooja finds herself enduring gruelling prisontime, the audience gets multiple perspectives on what actually happened, compelling us to question what we accept and confront truths we would rather look away from, instead of finding easy answers. 

Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Pooja Meri Jaan also features Vijay Raaz, Charu Shankar, and Priyansh Jora in key roles.

Sana brings a legal perspective into the story, as she tries to piece together what happened and understand the conflicting accounts surrounding Pooja. The film explores how perception can shape the way we understand people and events, and how difficult it can be to separate assumptions from the truth."
