In Lust Stories 3, the recently-released Netflix anthology film, Radhikka Madan won lot of praises for her performance as Sailee, in Shakun Batra’s segment about a to-be-separated couple which uses sexual intimacy to avoid confronting their deeper issues. In a recent interview, Radhikka spoke about why it felt natural to perform intimate scenes, and why it possible resonated with audience.

Speaking with NDTV, Radhikka praised Shakun Batra for his effortless, naturalistic way of handling things. She said, “It comes with the environment that he creates, how he composes the scene, and how much he discusses the character beforehand. When you are on set, it's actually quite easy to do stuff because of the way he has orchestrated things. you later realise why it felt so effortless — it was because of all the hard work that he had put in beforehand."

Also praising Shakun Batra’s scriptwriting, she added, “It's in a language that is spoken the way we speak in everyday life. There is no dialogue-baazi, per se. It's very, very relatable. That really helps in performing the scene and the way he shoots, the way he directs. You also don't want to do something over the top, and you don't feel like doing something understated either."

Recalling her interaction with audiences who liked the film, Radhikka noted, “Everything was relatable, and that is the reason a lot of people have called me and told me their personal stories. Recently, I think three days ago, one of my friends called me and she was like, 'Because I am so short in height, sometimes while fighting, I get up on the sofa and fight with my partner so that he doesn't discount my size and what I'm feeling.' It's a very natural reaction.”

Besides Radhikka, Lust Stories 3 featured prominent names like Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Radhika Apte, Vijay Varma and Siddharth in the lead cast. Other directors on board were Vishal Bhardwaj, Vikramaditya Motwane and Kiran Rao.
