After its theatrical release, Vemal's latest jungle action–thriller Mahasenha Volume – 1 is all set for its digital premiere. The film, written and directed by Dhinesh Kalaiselvan, the film will begin streaming on Aha from January 13, followed by its release on Prime Video on January 23.

Set in the mystical hills of Kurangani, the plot revolves around an ancient Yaali sculpture worshipped by tribal villagers as a divine protector. The villagers' calm lives are shaken when college trekkers and jungle mafias arrive chasing after the divine powers. Upon release on December 12, the film was received with mixed reviews from audiences and critics.

Our CE review of the film read, "Mahasenha Volume – 1 is yet another notorious film in the list of several other 'Chapter 1' and 'Part 1' movies that employ this tagline in vain, only to cop out from providing a story worth our time, and dares to assume that we would bother about a second part."

The film also stars Srushti Dange, Yogi Babu, Mahima Gupta, John Vijay, Kabir Duhan Singh, among others, with Sena the Elephant playing a key role.

The filmmaker has previously made the crime thriller Raakadhan (2023), starring himself, Vamsi Krishna, and Riyaz Khan, among others.

On the technical front, it has composer A Praveen Kumar, cinematographer Manas Babhu DR, stunt choreographer Ram Kumar, editor Nagooran Ramachandran, and background score composer Uday Prakash. The film was backed by Marudham Productions.
