We had recently reported about the makers of Anil Kapoor-starrer OTT film Subedaar being slated for a March release. On Wednesday, the makers announced March 5 as the premiere date for their film, as they unveiled a teaser of their film, introducing its protagonist and universe.

Directed by Suresh Triveni, Subedaar promises to present Anil Kapoor in a vintage action hero-mode, featuring him as Subedaar Arjun Maurya who now grapples with the challenged of leading a civilian life, battling the enemies within to protect his home and family.

What adds to the teaser’s impact is Anil Kapoor’s voiceover lines, simmering with rage at the injustice meted upon him, before he erupts into a violent outburst. The teaser also introduces Saurabh Shukla, who plays Arjun’s friend and confidante and Faisal Malik who promisingly essays one of the antagonists. Additionally, the film features Radhika Madan, Aditya Rawal and Mona Singh in the lead cast.

The makers also confirmed that Subedaar is an A-rated movie. The film is jointly produced under the banners of Opening Image Films Production and Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network. The shooting for Subedaar commenced in October 2024, wrapping up two months later. Last year, it was also announced that Anil has wrapped dubbing for the movie.

Suresh Triveni is known for making films like Tumhari Sulu and Jalsa. He was also the creator for the recently-released series Daldal, which too premiered on Prime Video. Besides helming direction, Suresh is also the co-writer for the film, along with Prajwal Chandrasekhar.
