Recently, we reported about Ramandeep Yadav commencing shoot for his project, Ali Baba aur 40 Bhoot, a JioHotstar original series. On Tuesday, the makers unveiled the first teaser of their series and announced the streaming premiere date.

Also featuring Asha Negi and Vishal Vashistha in lead cast, Ali Baba aur 40 Bhoot will have its OTT premiere on September 11. The teaser establishes the universe of the horror-comedy series, underlined by a funky number, also introducing its two protagonists who are out to unravel a mystery of supernatural forces in their sleepy little village. Vishal Vashistha plays a goofy cop, while Asha Negi plays his curious associate. Among other puzzles, the duo must also figure out why is the ghostly figure chasing all the goats in their village. 

The supporting cast includes Mridul Das, Abhay Mahajan, Joy Sengupta, Meenakshi Sethi, Mansi Sehgal, Ujjwal Chopra, Amit Jairath and Ashish Kaul.

The series is produced by Priyali Saxena and Bhuvanesh Shrivastava under the banner of Deja Vu Arts. Bhuvanesh is also onboard as a writer, sharing credits with Neil D’Silva, Jitesh Ramakrishnan, Konarak Mukherjee and Ankur Sharma. Meanwhile, Konarak Mukherjee, Lt. Rishabh Agarwal , Kenny Basumatary and Rohan Ghose are credited as directors.

Other upcoming JioHotstar series include Hassan, the official adaptation of acclaimed American series House, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. Reportedly, another series, with Saiyaara fame Aneet Padda in lead, is scheduled to be released later this year. 

Vishal was seen earlier year in Netflix series Glory, where too he played the role of a cop. Asha Negi’s last major role was in the series Criminal Justice, which premiered on JioHotstar last year.
