JioHotstar introduces HBO Max in India

As part of JioHotstar's partnership with HBO Max, exclusive content of HBO Max's slate will be available to stream on JioHotstar

Weeks after HBO Max was launched in the United Kingdom and Ireland, JioHotstar is launching the streamer in India, as part of its partnership with Warner Bros Discovery. Under the newly announced launch, content from HBO, Max Originals, Warner Bros Pictures, Warner Bros Television and DC Studios, will be available in the HBO Max hub, within JioHotstar.

Speaking about the launch, Kevin Vaz, CEO, Entertainment, JioStar, said: “This marks a defining moment in how premium global content is accessed and experienced in India. By bringing HBO Max to JioHotstar, we are creating a unified destination for premium international content and raising the bar for quality content once again. We are combining scale, curation, quality and ease of access. This unlocks a deeper and more immersive entertainment experience for audiences nationwide.”

Meanwhile, James Gibbons, President of WBD (Asia-Pacific), said: “India is one of the most vibrant streaming markets globally, and in JioHotstar, we have a partner with unmatched scale and a deep understanding of local audiences. The launch of HBO Max exclusively with JioHotstar marks the next chapter in our long-standing collaboration, enabling us to broaden the reach of our premium brands and franchises, and build deeper connections with fans across the country.”

While users can view titles like the latest season of Euphoria or The Pitt, titles like Friends or The Big Bang Theory, which have completed their broadcast run can be accessed. Upcoming titles like DC's Lanterns and the first season of the upcoming Harry Potter reboot, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, will be available to access. The newly added HBO Max hub, will be available for Rs 49 per month, as an add-on feature in JioHotstar.
