New Hindi OTT releases this week (April 8-14): O' Romeo, Tu Yaa Main, and more

Tu Yaa Main had its theatrical release in February, while this will be a direct-to-OTT release for the Rajat Kapoor directorial

Tu Yaa Main (Netflix, April 10)

The Bejoy Nambiar directorial survival thriller will begin streaming on Friday.

Starring Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav in the lead roles, Tu Yaa Main tells the story of two young influencers Flo and Avani who fall in love despite their different social strata, and elope together. However, little do the lovers know that a life threatening situation awaits them in form of a predatory crocodile. 

The survival thriller was produced by Aanand L Rai. While the film received largely positive reviews from film-goers, it didn’t work at the box office. 

Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa (ZEE5, April 10)

Directed by Rajat Kapoor, the film features Ranvir Shorey, Vinay Pathak and Neil Bhoopalam. Billed as a murder mystery, the film unfolds at an intimate dinner party which turns into a morbid space as a guest is found murdered.

Produced by Applause Entertainment, Everybody Loves Sohrab Handa also features Sadiya Siddiqui, Chandradoor Rai, and Koel Purie in the ensemble cast. While the film never had a wide-scale theatrical release, it had its premiere at the MAMI film festival in 2023. 

O Romeo (Prime Video, April 10)

Shahid Kapoor-Triptii Dimri starrer O'Romeo will begin streaming on Prime Video on April 10.

Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the gritty romance told the story of Afshan, a grieiving young widow (Triptii) who decides to take the help of a raging Mumbai gangster Hussain Ustara (Shahid Kapoor). However, fate has other plans for them as Ustara finds himself falling for Afshan.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, O Romeo did below-average business at the box office.
