This announcement comes at a time when Netflix UK is in the spotlight for its latest miniseries Adolescence, which has been garnering rave responses across the globe.

Based on one of the most daring criminal investigations, Legends will revolve around a group of British Customs employees who are assigned the task of infiltrating some of the most dangerous criminal drug syndicates in the country.

Coogan, Burke, and Squires will be joined by Aml Ameen of the A Man in Full fame, Jamine Blackborow of the Marie Antoinette fame, Douglas Hodge of the G20 fame, Tom Hughes of The English fame, Charlotte Richie of the YOU fame, Gerald Kyd of The Assassin fame and Johnny Harris of Great Expectations fame.

Set in the early 90s, the British Customs and Excise is on the backfoot in its battle against drug smuggling across. The department decides to train its employees to infiltrate these gangs in order to get the hang of their modus operandi and outmanoeuvre them.

Interestingly, Forsyth's previous work, The Gold, too was based on a different heist story. Legends, directed by Brady Hood and Julian Holmes, will be produced by Forsyth and Ben Farrell for All3Media Limited.
