Ajay Devgn and Riteish Deshmukh’s Raid 2 will be released on Netflix on June 26, the streaming platform announced on Wednesday. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the thriller also stars Vaani Kapoor, Amit Sial, Brijendra Kala and Supriya Pathak in pivotal roles.

Netflix shared a poster of the film to make the announcement on social media. They wrote in caption, “Aaj se ulti ginti shuru (The back counting has started from today). Amay Patnaik is back with a new case and the same old fire."

Raid 2 is a sequel to Ajay’s 2018 film Raid, which also starred Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla and was based on an Income Tax raid from the 1980s. The sequel features Ajay’s character Amay Patnaik doing a raid on the properties of an influential politician, played by Riteish.

Raid 2 is been produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar through their T-Series banner, alongside Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak of Panorama Studios. It was released in theatres on May 1, doing a steady business of over Rs 173.31 crore (India Net), as per Sacnilk.

CE’s review of the film read, “Raid 2 is a product of its desperate times. It believes in stuffing more in its story than just focusing on relevant portions and exploring them in detail. While the first part ran with a certain straightforwardness that also became too simplistic for its own good, here there is an attempt to always do more, say more, for you never know which arrow hits the bullseye.”
