Samuthirakani's latest film Thiru Manickam is set to stream soon on OTT platform Zee5. The makers announced that the emotional drama, also starring veteran actor-director Bharathiraja in a key role, will be available to view on the platform from January 24. The film was directed by Nandha Periyasamy.

The director has previously helmed  Anandham Vilayadum Veedu, and written the screenplay for Rashmi Rocket. Thambi Ramaiah, Ananya, Nassar, Gracy, Sriman, Karunakaran, Chaams, Vadivukarasi, and Ilavarasu, among others, are part of the supporting cast of Thiru Manickam.

The film's plot revolves around a honest man played by Samuthirakani who runs a lottery ticket shop. After Bharathiraja's character wins Rs 1.5 crore in a lottery, Samuthirakani embarks on a difficult mission to return the ticket to its rightful owner.

Upon release on December 27, the film received mixed reviews. Our CE review of the film read, "With extremely convenient writing, an obvious representational narrative, and some more melodrama than required, Thiru.Manickam tries to woo its audience with the sentiment of righteousness but falls short."

GP Ravi Kumar, Chinta Gopala Krishna Reddy and Raja Senthil backed Thiru Manickam, under the GPRK Cinemas banner. The film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Sukumar M, editor Guna and music composer Vishal Chandrashekar. Thiru Manickam was shot in areas such as Kumuli, Thekkady, and Munnar.
