Soodhu Kavvum 2, the sequel to Nalan Kumarasamy's hit 2013 film, is now streaming on OTT platform Prime Video.

Helmed by SJ Arjun, the film stars Shiva in the lead with Karunakaran, MS Bhaskar, Yog Japee and Radha Ravi reprising their roles from the original film.

Apart from these actors, the cast also includes Harisha, Karate Karthi, Aruldoss, Kalki, and Kavi. Soodhu Kavvum 2 film has a story penned by SJ Arjun and T Yogaraja.

The plot of Soodhu Kavvum 2 revolves around Guru, portrayed by Shiva, who seeks revenge against Arumai Pragasam, a corrupt Finance Minister responsible for a personal tragedy in Guru's life. After serving time in prison, Guru attempts to revive his kidnapping business, which he had abandoned after the events of the first film.

Upon release on December 13, the film received mostly negative reviews. Our CE review of the film reads, "While the original stood apart from the films that were released at the time, the sequel banks on its success, lacks originality in the script and uniqueness in its storytelling. Gnanodayam (MS Bhaskar) and Bramma (Yog Japee) make a comeback, as do a barrage of scenes from the original to connect the first and the second parts, but to no avail. The visual inconsistencies are on the face, with the 'kednappers' and the script meandering in all directions."

Soodhu Kavvum 2's technical crew comprises music composer Edwin Louis Viswanath, cinematographer Karthik K Thillai and editor Ignatious Aswin. The film is backed by CV Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment and S Thangaraj of Thangam Cinemas.
