The trailer of Jaideep Ahlawat’s crime-thriller show Paatal Lok Season 2 was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware and created by Sudip Sharma, the series also stars Ishwak Singh, Tillotama Shome, Gul Panag, Nagesh Kukunoor, and Jahnu Barua in pivotal roles.

The trailer begins with visuals of Hathi Ram Chaudhary (Jaideep), being choked by a mysterious man as a voiceover speaks of the many holes in the system. It is set against the backdrop of Nagaland, as Hathi Ram teams up with his trusted ally, Imran Ansari (Ishwak), to investigate the disappearance of a migrant worker tied to a dangerous drug syndicate. The trailer is filled with a dark tone, reminiscent of the first season and seems to explore the themes of morality and doing one’s duty in extreme circumstances.

Speaking about the show, Jaideep said, “With Paatal Lok Season 2, we delve even deeper into Hathi Ram's psyche. This season unravels the raw, vulnerable side of him as he grapples with new adversities, uncharted moral dilemmas, and his own shadows. It's darker, grittier, and layered with human complexities.”

Produced by Clean Slate Filmz, in association with Eunoia Films, the eight-episode series is set to be released on Prime Video on January 17.
