A live-action series based on the classic role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons is in active development at Netflix. After getting a series order at Paramount+, the series did not move forward with its development.

Shawn Levy is developing the series with Dan Levine under his 21 Laps banner. He has previously directed some fan-favourite episodes of Stranger Things, including the fourth episode of the fourth season, 'Dear Billy'. He last directed the Night of the Museum series, and the hit Deadpool and Wolverine.

Drew Crevello is set to develop this series as showrunner and producer. He previously created and produced WeCrashed (2022), the miniseries about the rise and fall of Adam and Rebekah Neumann, the couple behind WeWork.

Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop role-playing game, that was first published in 1974. It has inspired many film adaptations, the most recent one being Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
