We had reported in June this year that actor Connie Britton joined HBO's upcoming series Rooster as Steve Carell's spouse. The latest update from the makers is that the series will stream in March next year.

The comedy series will star Carell as a middle-aged author who navigates a complicated relationship with his daughter, played by Charly Clive.

Apart from Carell, Britton, and Clive, the series stars Danielle Deadwyler, John C McGinley, Phil Dunster, and Lauren Tsai. Carell will serve as an executive producer. He is joined by Jeff Ingold, Barbie Adler, Jonathan Krisel, Annie Mebane, David Stassen, Liza Katzer, Anthony King, and series creators Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses. The 10-episode series is produced by Warner Bros Television.

Known for his performances in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Little Miss Sunshine, Get Smart, Crazy, Stupid, Love, and voice roles in movies including the Despicable Me franchise, Carell's last complete live-action movie was in Wes Anderson's Asteroid City (2023), which starred Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, and Margot Robbie. In 2024, he was part of the live-action animated film IF and lent his voice to Gru in the fourth installment of Despicable Me.
