Prashanth's Andhagan gets OTT premiere

A Tamil remake of the 2018 Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Andhadhun, Andhagan also stars Simran and Priya Anand in lead roles

Prashanth's Andhagan, the Tamil remake of the 2018 Ayushmann Khurrana film Andhadhun, is now available to stream on Prime Video. The film premiered on the streaming platform on Tuesday. 

Helmed by Prashanth's father and veteran actor-director Thiagarajan, the murder mystery, long in the making, hit theatres on August 9 and opened to positive reception. Andhagan also stars Simran and Priya Anand in lead roles, who played the characters of Tabu and Radhika Apte from the original film. 

Karthik, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, Urvasi, KS Ravikumar, Vanitha Vijaykumar, Leela Samson, Poovaiyar, Besant Ravi, and Mohan Vaithiya round out the ensemble cast of Andhagan. Late actor Manobala also plays the role of a police official in the film.

On the technical team, Andhagan has music by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography by Ravi Yadav and editing by Sathish Suriya. The film is bankrolled by Staar Movies. It is to be noted that Andhadhun was remade in Telugu as Maestro (2021) starring Nithiin, Tamannaah, and Nabha Natesh, and in Malayalam as Bhramam (2021), with Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the lead.
