Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft gets release date

The upcoming series will focus on the titular character Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell), who was played by actor Angelina Jolie in the live-action adaptation

On Saturday, Netflix announced the release date for its upcoming animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. Set to feature a voiceover by Hayley Atwell, the series is all set to premiere on the streamer on October 10.

First announced in 2021, the project is attached to Legendary in order to expand the Skull Island and Tomb Raider universes.

The official logline of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, reads, "More than 25 years after her first appearance, Lara Croft (voiced by Hayley Atwell) continues to explore ancient mysteries and uncover lost truths across breathtaking and dangerous destinations."

The upcoming series will focus on the titular character Lara Croft, who was played by actor Angelina Jolie in the live-action adaptation. Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will mark the character's maiden venture in the animated version. Angelina played the role in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life (2003).

Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is written by Tasha Hui who will also serve as the executive producer along with Dmitri M Johnson, Tim Stevenson and Dan Jevons.
