Marvel Studios' latest outing at the theatres, The Marvels, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on February 7, the streamer announced on Tuesday.

The film stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Captain Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani as Ms Marvel. Besides the lead characters, the film also stars Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, and Saagar Shaikh.

The official synopsis of The Marvels reads: "Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Carol's estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe."

The Marvels is directed by Nia DaCosta, the first black woman and fourth woman to helm a film in the MCU. The director co-wrote the screenplay with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.
