Netflix is making announcements regarding its slate of Tamil films for 2024, under the Netflix Pandigai tag on social media. As a part of the announcements, the streamer revealed RJ Balaji's next film. Titled Sorgavaasal, the film is helmed by debut director Sidharth Viswanath. 

While details about the project are scarce, Netflix released a first-look poster featuring a grim RJ Balaji looking at his own blood-smeared hands. From the caption on the post which read, "No door can stop this jailbreak. RJ Balaji will break down heaven's doors to come to you," it can be deduced that the film will feature Balaji in the role of a criminal, who attempts to escape prison.

Sorgavaasal is backed by Think Studios and Swipe Right Studio. More details about the plot, cast and crew are to be made by the makers. Sidharth Viswanath is an erstwhile assistant of director Pa Ranjith. 

On the work front, RJ Balaji was last seen in Run Baby Run. He is awaiting the release of Singapore Saloon, which is set to hit theatres on January 25. 

Meanwhile, other films that are a part of Netflix's Tamil slate for the year, include Kannivedi, Revolver Rita, Indian 2, Thangalaan, SK21, Maharaja, and the previously announced Vidaamuyarchi.
