The upcoming Netflix historical drama series, Death By Lightning has added Nick Offerman and Betty Gilpin to the cast. Previously, the makers announced that the series is set to be headlined by Matthew Macfadyen and Michael Shannon. 

Death By Lightning revolves around the assassination of US President James Garfield (Shannon), by Charles Guiteau (Macfayden). Death By Lightning has been adapted from Candice Millard's novel, Destiny of the Republic.  

The role of First Lady Crete Garfield will be portrayed by Filpin, while Offerman will essay the role of Garfield's vice president and successor, Chester A Arthur.

Death By Lightning is written and created by Mike Makowsky, who will also serve as an executive producer. Death By Lightning is helmed by Matt Ross.
