The trailer of Huma Qureshi’s Maharani 3 was released by the makers on Monday. It will follow the events of the last season where Huma’s character, Rani Bharti, was put in jail. The series is directed by Saurabh Bhave and created by Subhash Kapoor, who has made films like Jolly LLB (2013) and Madam Chief Minister (2021). It is written by Subhash Kapoor, Nandan Singh and Umashankar Singh. It also stars Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, Sushil Pandey, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, and Sohum Shah in pivotal roles.

The trailer begins with an interaction between Navin Kumar (Amit Sial) and Rani Bharti where he threatens to keep her in jail for 15-20 years so that she can complete her PhD. She is charged with the murder of her husband and is secluded from her son who holds a deep grudge against her. The trailer further gives a glimpse into politics, the illegal liquor trade and the quest for power among its characters. It ends with Rani confronting a man who holds a gun to her face and she walks fiercely towards him.

Maharani 3 is produced by Naren Kumar and Dimple Kharbanda. It will be released on Sony Liv on March 7.
