After a long delay following the writers’ and actors’ strikes, Wednesday season 2 has officially wrapped filming.

Filming for Season 2 of Wednesday began in Ireland in late May 2024. The new season will feature eight episodes and is set to premiere on Netflix in 2025. Tim Burton will continue his role as director and executive producer in Season 2, with Paco Cabezas and Angela Robinson also directing.

Jenna Ortega is set to reprise her lead role as Wednesday Addams in the upcoming second season of Wednesday. Returning as series regulars are Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Ritchie Santiago. Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer will also be back, along with guest stars Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane. However, notably absent from the list is Percy Hynes White, who portrayed Xavier Thorpe in Season 1.

The new season introduces Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor as series regulars. Additionally, Lady Gaga and Thandiwe Newton will appear as a guest star, alongside Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

The series, inspired by the Addams Family character Wednesday Addams, is the creation of Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The first season, which premiered in November 2022, concluded with Wednesday solving a series of brutal murders while preventing the destruction of Nevermore Academy. As of now, details about the plot and release date for Season 2 remain under wraps.
