Buddy, the Allu Sirish starrer which had a theatrical release earlier this month, is now gearing up for its OTT premiere. The action-thriller which also starred Ajmal Amir and Gayatri Bharadwaj will begin streaming on Netflix from August 30 onwards.

Produced by KE Gnanavelraja and Aadhana Gnanavelraja under the banner of Studio Green Films Banner, Buddy revolves around a commercial pilot Aditya Ram (Allu Sirish) who, after lands in trouble with a dangerous mafia honcho (Ajmal Amir), gets help from his Teddy bear friend in eliminating his enemies. In our review for the film, we had noted, “Allu Sirish has a great eye for picking subjects that his contemporaries wouldn’t even attempt. But Buddy needed more technical finesse to create a compelling narrative.”

Buddy is directed by Sam Anton, and written by Sai Hemanth. Hiphop Tamizha is the music director for the film. Ruben is the editor, and Krishnan Vasant is the cinematographer. The action sequences have been choreographed by Sakthi Saravanan. The ensemble cast for the film includes names like Prisha Rajesh Singh, Mukesh Rishi and Ali among others.

Besides Telugu, the film will also be available to stream in the languages of Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
