Netflix renews The Witcher for fifth and final season as fourth season goes into production

Netflix announced on Thursday that production has begun for the fourth season of The Witcher. Along with a video of the production, Netflix also announced that the series has been renewed for a fifth season, which will also be the final season of the series. 

Liam Hemsworth has replaced Henry Cavill as the lead, and the fourth season will be the first to feature the former as the protagonist, Geralt of Rivia. 

The Witcher season 4 will star Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, Freya Allan as Geralt’s ward Ciri, Joey Batey as Jaskier the bard, Cassie Clare as the witch Philippa Eilhart and Mahesh Jadu as the mage Vilgefortz of Roggeveen. Sharlto Copley, Danny Woodburn, and James Purefoy were recently added to the cast of The Witcher 4

The three remaining Witcher novels of Andrzej Sapkowski, titled Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake will be covered in seasons 4 and 5 of The Witcher

Seasons 4 and 5 of The Witcher will be shot back to back. Netflix is yet to announce a release date for the upcoming seasons.
