On Sunday, Netflix dropped a new trailer of part 1 of Zack Snyder's much-hyped epic space opera film Rebel Moon, titled A Child of Fire. The first part is scheduled for a release on the streamer on December 22.

The official synopsis of Rebel Moon says, "A peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. The desperate civilians dispatch Kora, a young woman who has a mysterious past, to seek out warriors from nearby planets to help them challenge the regent."

The new trailer shows how Kora, played by Sofia Boutella, assembles a team to initiate a revolution. The film is based on a screenplay that Snyder co-wrote with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. The director had earlier mentioned that the upcoming film is inspired by Star Wars and Akira Kurosawa's films.

Netflix has produced the film in collaboration with Grand Electric along with Zack Snyder and his wife Deborah Snyder's production house, The Stone Quarry.

Apart from Sofia, the film features an ensemble cast that includes Fra Fee, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ray Fisher, Anthony Hopkins, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Doona Bae, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, Cleopatra Coleman, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, and Sky Yang among others.

Part 2 of Rebel Moon, titled, The Scargiver, will be released on April 19, 2024.
