The trailer of Jitendra Kumar and Shriya Pilgaonkar starrer Dry Day was released by the makers on Thursday. Written and directed by Saurabh Shukla, the social satire also stars Annu Kapoor.

Dry Day is set in the fictional small town of Jagodhar, which is up for a corporator’s election. The place has only one liquor shop and it seems like alcoholism in men is irking their wives in the town. Jitendra’s Gannu is a small-time goon and one of the candidates for the election. Nirmala (Shriya) plays his love-interest. The trailer shows Nirmala being vexed with Gannu’s lax ways and she believes he isn’t responsible enough. In a drunken stupor, Gannu announces that alcohol in the town should be banned. This leads to a domino effect and women take to the streets, in support of him. Annu Kapoor plays Gannu’s uncle in the film.

“Amidst the emotional quest to earn the trust and love of his dear ones, Gannu not only confronts the external challenges but also struggles with his own insecurities and issue of alcoholism,” the film’s synopsis read.

The film is slated to release on Amazon Prime Video on December 22.
