The makers of Turbo released a song titled Burnout The Engine on Wednesday. Composed by Christo Xavier, the song has rap lyrics written and sung by Shan Vincent de Paul aka SVDP, making his debut in Malayalam. The film, directed by Vysakh and scripted by Midhun Manuel Thomas, was released worldwide on May 23.

The cast of Turbo also includes Anjana Jayaprakash, Bindu Panicker, Shabareesh Varma, Kannada actor Raj B Shetty and Telugu actor Sunil, among others. Its technical crew comprises cinematographer Vishnu Sarma and editor Shameer Muhammed. It is produced by the lead actor's home production Mammootty Kampany.

An excerpt from the CE review of the film read: “The makers somehow manage to hold the attention by punctuating its otherwise tedious narrative with frequent action blocks—set in church grounds, shopping mall, bus, police station and cold storage warehouse. Mammootty, despite his age limitations, doesn’t stop himself from packing a punch and looks thoroughly convincing as a smashing machine."

Up next, Mammootty has Bazooka, billed as a high-concept thriller, in the offing. Directed by debutant Deeno Dennis, the film is currently in the post-production stage.
