The makers of Roy, the upcoming Malayalam film starring Suraj Venjaramoodu, released the trailer on Saturday. 

Directed by Sunil Ibrahim, the film will release on Sony Liv on December 9. Roy features Sija Rose George as the female lead actor. 

The trailer hints that the film will be a family-oriented mystery thriller. Suraj plays Roy, who is in search of her missing wife and journalist, Teena. He files a missing complaint at the police station. While some assume he is mentally unwell, he tries to prove that his wife had gone behind a novelist named Rajagopal, who is also missing. 

The film also stars Jins Basker, VK Sreeraman and Shine Tom Chacko as a cop. Produced by Sajeesh Manjeri and Sanoob K Yousef, with Zakir Manoli serving as the executive producer, the film's cinematography is handled by Jayesh Mohan, music by Munna OM and edits by V Saajan. Meanwhile, Sunil has previously directed thriller films like Chapters, Arikil Oraal and Y.
