Writer Niyog Krishna has dismissed claims that Tiki Taka, the upcoming Asif Ali-starrer directed by Rohith VS, has undergone repeated reshoots and script changes. The writer responded to an X (formerly Twitter) user's post alleging that the film's production had gone through extensive changes, making it uncertain whether it would meet audience expectations.

The user wrote, "Tikitaka inside - ImGame kind of situation. Reshoots after reshoots, script changes and whatnot have happened. At this point, it would be nothing short of a miracle if the movie manages to properly cater to the Malayali audience."

Another user tagged Niyog in a reply seeking clarification on the claims. Quote-tweeting the post, Niyog responded with a sarcastic dismissal: "SOURCE: TRUST ME BRO 🤭 Reshoots & script changes! Seriously? He’s definitely talking about some other film!"

Tiki Taka has been in the making for some time, with production originally commencing in 2023. The shoot was temporarily halted after Asif suffered a severe ACL injury while filming an action sequence. The actor subsequently underwent surgery and a lengthy recovery period before production resumed.

Asif had previously spoken about the physical demands of the project, revealing that he had undergone a major body transformation for his character, John Denver. In September 2025, the actor said the film could not be shot in one continuous schedule because of the intense physical strain involved. He explained that the team would typically shoot for 10 to 15 days before taking a five-day break. The film was initially scheduled for a Christmas 2025 release, but the makers later postponed its theatrical debut to 2026. A new release date is yet to be announced.

Directed by Kala filmmaker Rohith, Tiki Taka marks his third collaboration with Asif after Adventures of Omanakuttan and Iblis. The action entertainer also stars Lukman Avaran, Wamiqa Gabbi, Naslen and Sanchana Natarajan in prominent roles.

Niyog is credited with the screenplay, based on a story by Packiaraj. The technical crew includes cinematographer Sony Seban, editor Chaman Chakko and composer Ravi Basrur. The film is jointly backed by T-Series Films, Panorama Studios, Vellmade Productions and Adventure Company.

Meanwhile, Niyog is set to have writing credits on Mattancherry Mafia, starring Mammootty, Asif Ali and Naslen, and Krishnad's upcoming mass entertainer led by Mohanlal.
