Keralam Chief Minister VD Satheesan and Mohanlal took to social media to wish Mammootty, on the his 75th birthday. Mohanlal also penned a statement dedicated to his contemporary, reminscing memories of the man Mohanlal calls Ichakka (elder brother).

Taking to his X handle, Keralam CM VD Satheesan wrote, "Birthday wishes to the pride of Malayalam cinema, our dear Mammootty. His acting journey, which has been creating wonders on the silver screen for over five decades, is an eternal inspiration to Indian cinema itself. Wishing our dear Mammootty long life, good health, happiness, and all goodness."

Taking to his X handle, Mohanlal wrote, "Happy birthday dear Ichakka! Wishing you good health, happiness, and continued success always."

Mohanlal also penned a statement, through Mathrubhumi. As he began by recounting the endless personal memories of their time together with their respective families, Mohanlal also wrote, "Whether performing side by side or working on separate projects, both of us always strove relentlessly to give our absolute best to the craft assigned to us. It was never a spirit of rivalry, but a shared, unbridled passion for cinema."

While asserting that there are no other lead actors have collaborated on more than 50 years, Mohanlal also established that the pair were fortunate to carry on the legacy passed on by Thikkurissy Sukumaran Nair, Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair, SP Pillai and Sathyan and Prem Nazir.

Mohanlal also mentioned Mammootty's resilience through the latter's health troubles and ended the note by writing, "I pray that you remain here with us for many more years to come."

Beginning with IV Sasi's Ahimsa (1981), Mammootty and Mohanlal have acted together in 56 films, recently reuniting on screen in Mahesh Narayanan's Patriot.
