After a successful theatrical run, the Vismaya Mohanlal-starrer Thudakkam is set for its digital premiere on JioHotstar. The film will start streaming on the platform on September 18. Directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the action-thriller marks the acting debuts of Mohanlal's daughter Vismaya and Antony Perumbavoor's son Aashish Joe Antony.

Thudakkam, co-written by Jude, Akhil Krishna and Linish Nellikkal, tells the story of a girl being stalked and harassed by a cold-blooded criminal before she retaliates using her martial arts prowess.

Vismaya plays Meenu, an ambitious young woman who runs a local martial arts institute, while Aashish essays the villain's role. Both actors were praised for their performances, especially in the stunt scenes.

Thudakkam also stars Sai Kumar, Bobby Kurian, and Manoj K Jayan in key roles, with Mohanlal making a cameo appearance. Mohanlal plays Meenu's martial arts master, who arrives at a key moment to inspire her. He also gets a fight scene, designed specifically as a crowd-pleasing moment.

Upon its release on August 7, the film enjoyed a good run at the box office. Critic reviews were also largely favourable, despite a few criticisms of the broad-strokes approach in filmmaking.
