Recently, we reported about Joju George coming back to direction after 2024’s Pani with a film titled Paripadi. The film stars Joju himself in the lead role alongside more than 100 newcomers. On Friday, its production banner, Kavya Film Company, dropped a poster offering a first official look at the film and the first single from it. Titled ‘Paatt Paripadi,’ the song has composition and vocals by Yuvan Shankar Raja. While Yuvan has sung ‘Kadal Pole’ from the 2024 film Kummattikali, he turns a composer for the first time in Malayalam cinema with the Joju George headliner and directorial venture. Besides Yuvan, the song also has vocals by Ishaan Dev, Samad Sulaiman, Ameen Afridi, Vipin Xavier, and Ashee S. It has lyrics by Dr Parvathy. The makers describe it as an “electrifying” song and have also released it in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu.

Paripadi is written and directed by Joju George, and its story is set in Thrissur, his hometown. According to a Mathrubhumi report, the upcoming film is primarily set in Chalakudy and is made in the same genre as Joju’s directorial debut, but it has a much bigger canvas in comparison.

On the technical front, the film also has cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, editor Manu Antony, stunt choreographers Anbariv, and production designer Sabu Mohan. Anbariv are mainly known for their work in Tamil cinema, and the upcoming film marks their 13th venture in Malayalam. The duo most recently worked in I'm Game, starring Dulquer Salmaan.

Paripaadi is produced by Venu Kunnappilly under his Kavya Film Company banner. Now in post production, the film is yet to have a release date. However, in the song video, the makers revealed that it is set to hit theatres in December.
