Aavasavyuham actor Rahul Rajagopal and Drishyam-fame Roshan Basheer are set to headline a new Malayalam film titled Band of Brothers. The project was announced by production house Vanimahal Creations through social media, along with the unveiling of its first look. “Twenty years buried. Now, it surfaces. 34,000 rifles. No owner. But men came looking anyway. Some egos stand taller than the rifles,” the production house wrote while introducing the film as its maiden feature production.

The poster features a man dressed in a white shirt and black pant, holding a rifle, with his head covered by a dark cloth. Set against a village backdrop, the image hints at a dark narrative. However, further details about the plot, genre and extended cast remain under wraps. It is written and directed by Bijoy P I, whose previous directorial credit is the 2012 mystery thriller Padmavyooham.

Band of Brothers has cinematography by Rajkumar Bhaskaran, editing by Ratnaraj Radhakrishnan and music by Sanjeev Krishnan, with original background score composed by Gopi Sundar.

Roshan is best known for playing the pivotal character Varun Prabhakar in Jeethu Joseph’s 2013 thriller Drishyam, headlined by Mohanlal. He later reprised the same role in the Tamil remake Papanasam, starring Kamal Haasan. The actor has since appeared in films across Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu cinema. His upcoming projects also include Rachel, led by Honey Rose as the titular protagonist, which has been indefinitely delayed.

Rahul came to prominence with Krishand’s 2022 mockumentary science fiction film Aavasavyuham, which received critical acclaim and won the Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation at the 69th National Film Awards. He has since collaborated with the filmmaker on subsequent projects, including the dystopian science fiction film Masthishka Maranam. Rahul was last seen in Mahesh Narayanan’s Patriot, starring Mammootty and Mohanlal.
