The Sajid Yahiya-starrer Steve & Polly, directed by Vipin Atley, has commenced shooting. Sajid announced the development on social media on Friday, sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets. “Our dream project Steve & Polly has officially gone on floors today! A special journey begins with Vipin Atley’s dream project. Excited to be part of this beautiful journey and a new chapter in my film career. Here’s to dreams, passion, and the magic of cinema!” he wrote.

Set against the backdrop of Kochi’s Anglo-Indian community, Steve & Polly is billed as an entertainer that blends humour and violence while exploring the community’s customs, traditions, and lifestyle. Sajid plays the titular Steve, while newcomer Sidharth Sathya essays Polly. The film also features Sudheer Sukumaran, Jude Anthany Joseph, Rajesh Sharma, Nia Luke, Munzila Kizkoth and Jacob George James in other key roles. The shoot will span Kochi, Pondicherry, Alappuzha, and Munnar.

Steve & Polly is presented by Epic Films & Entertainment Private Limited in association with N A Motion Pictures. Naresh Kumar Jha and Nazeer Ahmed are producing the film, with Liju Naderi as executive producer. Muhammad Satharji is composing the music, Joseph Daniel is handling cinematography, and AR Jibeesh is the editor.

The project marks Sajid’s first outing in a lead role. He has previously appeared in films such as Bangalore Days, Double Barrel and Darvinte Parinamam, and directed films including IDI: Inspector Dawood Ibrahim, Mohanlal and Qalb. Steve & Polly is his second collaboration with Vipin, following Antappante Athbudha Pravarthikal, released earlier this year.

Vipin’s directorial credits also include Homely Meals, Ben and Pombalai Orumai.
