Roshan Mathew is all set to headline Human, the next directorial venture of filmmaker Jeo Baby, best known for helming acclaimed dramas such as Nimisha Sajayan-Suraj Venjaramoodu's The Great Indian Kitchen and the Mammootty-Jyothika starrer Kaathal - The Core.
The new project was launched in Kochi on Sunday, with the makers unveiling its title poster at an event attended by the cast and crew. The poster features a handgun, SIM cards and a colourful mask against a dark, wooden backdrop, hinting at a crime-driven narrative. However, further details about the film’s plot, extended cast, shooting plans and genre have not been disclosed.
Jeo has also scripted Human, with his regular collaborators Salu K Thomas wielding the camera, Francies Louis handling the cuts and Mathews Pulickan composing the music. The film, slated for release in 2027, is produced by Sanju Unnithan under the banner of Spire Productions.
Roshan, who was last seen in M Padmakumar's crime drama Uyir, also has acclaimed filmmaker Don Palathara's Ekadesham as part of his upcoming slate.
Jeo’s last directorial Ebb, starring the filmmaker in the lead alongside All We Imagine As Light actor Divya Prabha and Jithin Puthenchery, premiered at the 30th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in 2025 and received polarising reviews for its provocative themes. The film is yet to secure a release, with a theatrical run or a direct-to-digital premiere as possibilities.
