The makers of Mollywood Times dropped a teaser for the film earlier this Sunday. Directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak of Mukundan Unni Associates fame, the film stars Naslen as a youngster who wants to become the best horror filmmaker of all time in Malayalam cinema. The Mollywood Times teaser starts with a reference to M Night Shyamalan, the Hollywood director who is known for his horror films and thrillers, such as The Sixth Sense and Signs, to name two. Recently, director Abhinav said that he made the Shyamalan reference in the film because of the filmmaker's connection with Kerala.

In the teaser, a young boy asks his father to buy him a camera so that he can become a filmmaker, such as M Night Shyamalan. The father tells the kid that his aspiration is too big in the tiny world of the Malayalam film industry. However, soon, the boy grows up to be wanting to become a filmmaker. "I am coming to save Malayalam cinema," Naslen's character exalts at one point in the trailer, while making a gesture reminiscent of the 'memefied' moment from Once Upon A Time in Hollywood where Leonardo DiCaprio's character points his finger at a television.

Written by Ramu Sun, Mollywood Times also stars Sangeeth Prathap and Sharaf U Dheen in important roles. The upcoming film brings Naslen and Sangeeth back together onscreen after their collaboration on 2024's Premalu. The film's cast also includes Prashanth Alexander, Chandu Salimkumar, and Rajesh Madhavan, among others.

On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Viswajith Odukkathil, music by Jakes Bejoy, editing by director Abhinav himself and Nidhin Raj Arol, and sound design and mix by Vishnu Govind. The film is produced by Ashiq Usman through his namesake banner. It is slated for a June 05 release in theatres worldwide. Meanwhile, here is a link to the Mollywood Times teaser:
