Following the release of Patriot, attention is slowly but surely shifting away to Drishyam 3, Mohanlal's second big release this May. The film brings the superstar back together with the franchise's director Jeethu Joseph and his co-stars Meena, Esther Anil, Ansiba Hassan, Murali Gopy, Siddique, and Asha Sharath. The makers of the film, Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas dropped a teaser for it earlier this year. Building even more anticipation for the film, the teaser has garnered over six million views on YouTube. Now, Mohanlal has revealed when the Drishyam 3 trailer will release.

The actor took to social media and announced that the trailer for his highly anticipated film will arrive in the evening of May 09, Saturday. The makers are yet to reveal the exact time at which the Drishyam 3 trailer will be available online.

The announcement comes a matter of hours after the makers revealed that the third instalment in the Drishyam franchise has received a U/A 13+ certificate from the Censor Board. Earlier, director Jeethu Joseph revealed that the film will not be a suspense thriller but will rather be a family drama, exploring Georgekutty and his family's life after the events of the second part. The director also told audiences not to expect big twists and turns from the film, unlike the previous instalments. Speaking of which, Drishyam 2, which recently had its theatrical premiere after the film's release on Prime Video back in 2021, ends with Georgekutty proving his and his family's innocence in the Varun murder case.

The makers of the third part are yet to reveal the film's plot. However, the recently released teaser suggests that it will follow Georgekutty, as he feels remorseful about what he and his family have done to Varun. Releasing the teaser, the makers wrote, "Drishyam 3 continues the gripping saga of truth, deception, and consequences."
