Babil Khan set to make Malayalam debut

Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil Khan, noted for his roles in Qala and the Netflix series The Railway Men, is all set for his acting debut in Malayalam. Babu Janardhanan is scripting and directing the film, which is planned to be launched on May 9 with a pooja ceremony in Kochi.

The upcoming film also stars Aparna Balamurali, Deepak Parambol, Nikhil Nair, Johny Antony, Jagadish, Sudheer Karamana, Unni Raja, Athmiya and Jayashankar. Cinematographer Fazil Nazer, editor Sooraj ES and music director Nandhagopan V are part of the primary technical team. Anilkumar Sivadas is producing the film, more details regarding which are awaited.

Babu Janardhanan is noted for scripting films like Varnapakittu, Chandranudikkunna Dikhil, Achanurangatha Veedu, Vasthavam, Thalappavu, and City of God. He made his directorial debut with the Mammootty-starrer Bombay March 12 before going on to make two more films — Lisammayude Veedu and God for Sale.
