It is worth noting how much effort a superstar such as Mammootty is taking to promote his latest film Patriot, directed by Mahesh Narayanan. He has given pre-release interviews for the film. He then came on an Instagram Live conversation with his Patriot co-stars Mohanlal and Kunchacko Boban. He has even made theatre visits and spoken to the audience who was part of the screening, thus catching on to a modern trend.
The cast and crew behind the film and even those who are part of the broader film fraternity are trying their best to ensure that it ends up being a profitable venture, especially for producer Anto Joseph. In one of his recent theatre visits, Mammootty acknowledged the contrasting reviews that the film has been receiving ever since its May 01 release in theatres.
Looking at the audience in attendance for the screening, the actor said, "The film is out in theatres in any case. There are different opinions about it. Some say that it is good, others say that it is bad. Each of you have your own opinion. Some of you might have heard all this and have still made it here to watch the film. If you have an opinion about it, this is exactly what should happen." While acknowledged the mixed Patriot reviews, the actor also added that the film has been made for the audience with the intention of entertaining them.
Speaking of which, many audiences disliked the film and even went to the extent of abusing director Mahesh Narayanan for his writing decisions in the film. They have especially dissed the way Mohanlal's character has been written in it.
As reported earlier, it has reunited the two big superstars in prominent roles for the first time after 2008's Twenty:20, directed by Joshiy.
