Earlier this Wednesday, the makers of Varavu dropped a trailer for the film, starring Joju George in the lead role and directed by Shaji Kailas. The film stars Joju as an enraged and vengeful man who is fresh out of prison and has an old score to settle. The Varavu trailer promises a gritty and violent action thriller revolving around local thugs, somewhere along the lines of Joju's films such as Antony, Pani, and Porinju Mariam Jose.

Varavu also stars Arjun Ashokan, Sukanya, Murali Gopy, Baiju Santhosh, Baburaj, Vani Vishwanath, and Bobby Kurian, among others. The film brings Joju back to the action thriller genre after the family drama Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal and the mystery thriller Valathu Vashathe Kallan.

Varavu also brings back Shaji Kailas back to the genre after 2022's Kaduva and Kaapa, both of which star Prithviraj Sukumaran. The filmmaker had two releases since Kaapa, namely Alone, featuring Mohanlal, and the Bhavana starrer Hunt, but both failed to make a mark at the box office.

The film is produced by Naisy Reji under the Olga Productions banner. It has dialogues by AK Sajan. On the technical front, the film has composer Sam CS, cinematographer S Saravanan, and editor Shameer Muhammed. Its action choreography team comprises Stunt Silva, Kalai Kingson, Phoenix Prabu, Rajashekar Master, Thavasi Raj, Mafia Sasi, and Jackie Johnson.

Varavu was earlier set to release on May 01, but it has been delayed. The makers are expected to announce a new release date soon. Meanwhile, here is a link to the Varavu trailer:
