The Nikhila Vimal-starrer Pennu Case has begun streaming on Prime Video. Directed by debutant Febin Sidharth, the film opened to mixed reviews upon its theatrical release on January 10. Inspired by real-life incidents, the crime comedy revolves around a con woman (Nikhila) who defrauds men across Kerala and Karnataka by posing as a bride under multiple identities. Her scheme begins to unravel when she is caught in the middle of one such attempt, prompting a police investigation that gradually reveals murkier details about the operation.

Pennu Case also features Aju Varghese, Hakim Shahjahan, Ramesh Pisharody, Irshad Ali, P P Kunhikrishnan and astrologer Hari Pathanapuram in supporting roles. The screenplay is co-written by Sidharth and Reshmi Radhakrishnan, with additional screenplay and dialogues by Jyothish M, Sunu V and Ganesh Malayath. The technical team includes cinematographer Shinoz, music director Ankit Menon and editor Shameer Muhammed.

An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "Pennu Case briefly flirts with narrative similarities to Sonam Kapoor’s Dolly Ki Doli and Suraj Venjaramoodu’s Nagendran’s Honeymoons, but familiarity is never the issue here. It’s the hollowness of the writing and the lacklustre execution that undo the film. If not for editor Shameer Muhammed trimming it to under two hours, the experience could well have turned into a real test of endurance."
