The release of the Joju George-starrer Varavu, directed by Shaji Kailas, has been postponed once again at the eleventh hour. The makers announced the development on social media just a day before the film's scheduled theatrical release on June 12, after it was initially pushed from May 1.

In a statement, the makers said that the postponement was prompted by their commitment to ensuring audiences receive the best possible cinematic experience. No further details regarding the delay were disclosed, and a revised release date has yet to be announced.

Varavu is set in the high ranges and follows Polachan, also known as Poly (Joju), a wealthy planter who returns to his native land to confront long-standing rivalries and settle unfinished business. The film is penned by A K Sajan, who has previously collaborated with the director on films such as Chinthamani Kolacase, Red Chillies and Dhrona 2010.

Varavu also stars Vani Viswanath, Murali Gopy, Arjun Ashokan, Saniya Iyappan, Sukanya, Baburaj and Vincy Aloshious, among others. Produced by Naisy Reji under the banner of Olga Productions, the film has cinematography by S Saravanan, editing by Shameer Muhammed and music by Sam CS.
