Director Tharun Moorthy has dismissed rumours that the shooting of his upcoming Mohanlal-starrer Athimanoharam has been halted due to script issues. Taking to social media on Thursday, the filmmaker clarified that reports suggesting the production had been halted due to "confusion in the script" were completely false. "I am receiving many messages and calls regarding online news claiming that our shoot has been stopped due to confusion in the script. This is completely false," he wrote.
Tharun added that the team has been filming in Thodupuzha for the past 78 days and that production is progressing despite weather-related challenges. According to him, heavy rain and adverse weather conditions have affected some of their plans, but the crew continues to work through the difficulties with enthusiasm and positivity. The filmmaker also urged people not to circulate unverified information for social media engagement. He noted that such misinformation could create unnecessary confusion among audiences and negatively affect the efforts of the entire team.
The clarification comes amid growing buzz around Athimanoharam, which marks Tharun's reunion with Mohanlal after the massive success of Thudarum. Earlier, the director had also addressed speculation about the upcoming film's tone, stating that it is not an action-oriented entertainer like Thudarum. He described the project as a "police procedural and family drama" and asked audiences to avoid drawing comparisons between the two films.
Athimanoharam, which marks Mohanlal's 366th film, features the actor as police officer TS Lovelajan. The film also stars Meera Jasmine as his wife. It is scripted by Ratheesh Ravi and produced by Ashiq Usman under his namesake banner. The technical crew includes composer Jakes Bejoy, cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor Vivek Harshan and sound designer Vishnu Govind.
