A day after courting criticism for his post getting back at the critics of his film Love Insurance Kompany, Vignesh Shivan has made a spiritual sojourn. The filmmaker visited the Chakkulathukavu Sree Bhagavathi Temple in Thiruvalla with his actor spouse, Nayanthara. It is worth noting that Nayanthara was born as Diana Mariam Kurian in a Christian family situated in the Thiruvalla municipality of Kerala. The latest trip to the temple follows the couple's visit to the actor's family.

Earlier this Tuesday, Vignesh Shivan took to his Instagram Stories and shared a video where a car can be seen headed to a Kurian family residence in Thiruvalla. Subsequently, videos of his visit to the temple started circulating online. Also visible in the videos is a 'vazhipadu' receipt that mentions the couple's names, alongside their Nakshatras.

Coming back to his post on LIK, the director said that he recently received messages praising the film from audiences who watched it on Prime Video after skipping it in theatres due to negative reviews. With his post, the filmmaker effectively attributed the box office failure of Love Insurance Kompany to those negative reviews that have been, "written to showcase intelligence or superiority, often to more than critique a film."

After his post, netizens criticised the filmmaker for blaming the audience for the film's failure. Notably, LIK marked a directorial comeback after his 2022 film, Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. Starring Pradeep Ranganathan, SJ Suriyah, Krithy Shetty, and Gouri Kishan, among others, the film earned around 60 crore from theatres worldwide, according to data from the box office tracker Sacnilk.
