Premalu actor Naslen has offered the first official details about his character in Amal Neerad's upcoming film Bachelor Party D’eux. The revelation came during a recent interview with Cue Studio, in which the actor responded to popular Google searches about him.
One of the questions asked, "What is Naslen's role in Bachelor Party 2?" In response, the actor revealed that he plays a character named Soni. "My character's name is Soni, part of the main gang that includes Soubin (Shahir) ikka, Sharaf (U Dheen) ikka, (Sreenath) Bhasi and Chandu (Salimkumar)," Naslen said. The actor, however, refrained from sharing further details about the character or the film's plot.
The update comes shortly after the makers announced the completion of principal photography on Bachelor Party D’eux. The title of the sequel was unveiled earlier this year, with Amal explaining that "Deux" translates to "two" in French, while "D’eux" means "of them" or "about them". The film is jointly produced by Amal Neerad Productions, Fahadh Faasil and Friends, and Anwar Rasheed Entertainments.
The second instalment stars Rajisha Vijayan and Hansika Krishna as the female leads. Reports also suggest that Kunchacko Boban and Shine Tom Chacko play the antagonists, but an official confirmation is awaited. The technical crew includes cinematographer Appu Prabhakar, composer Christo Xavier and editor Vivek Harshan.
Released in 2012, Bachelor Party was a black comedy action drama written by Unni R and Santhosh Echikkanam. The film starred Asif Ali, Kalabhavan Mani, Rahman, Indrajith Sukumaran, Vinayakan and Nithya Menen, with cameo appearances by Prithviraj Sukumaran and Padmapriya. It centred on a group of ageing gangsters who reunite to protect one of their own, triggering a violent chain of loyalty, betrayal and revenge. It remains unclear whether Bachelor Party D’eux will serve as a direct sequel to the original film or function as a spiritual successor.
Naslen is currently awaiting the release of Mollywood Times, directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak of Mukundan Unni Associates fame. The film, which also stars Sharaf U Dheen and Sangeeth Prathap, is set to hit theatres on June 5.
