Veteran actor Lissy Lakshmi has shared an emotional note on social media after reuniting with filmmaker Priyadarshan for a new advertisement, marking their first professional collaboration in 38 years. Along with a carousel of photographs from the shoot featuring herself, Priyadarshan, daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan, actor Prabhu Ganesan and members of the crew, Lissy opened up about the experience of returning to the camera under Priyadarshan's direction. "It's been 38 years since I last worked with Priyettan, and I'm overjoyed to be working with him again! Our last film together was the iconic Chitram. And the best part, I'm playing the reel mother to my real daughter Kalyani Priyadarsan, in this ad film for Kalyan Jewellers!" she wrote.
Recalling her first day on set, Lissy shared that Priyadarshan's executive director Abhilash had asked whether she felt nervous about acting again after such a long gap. According to her, the answer came easily. "I said no, because Priyettan knows me inside out, from my best to my worst facial angles to make me look my best," she wrote, before sharing a light-hearted exchange with the filmmaker. "Priyettan overheard this and quipped, 'I know her best and worst behaviours too!'"
Describing the shoot as an emotional experience, Lissy said the atmosphere on set was filled with nostalgia. "I tried my best to hold my joyful tears. The whole shoot was a picnic spot. I'm deeply grateful to Kalyan Jewellers for this incredible opportunity to work with both Priyettan and Kalyani. My heart is full with several emotions. Life has come full circle for me," she added, while also seeking the love, prayers and support of her fans. Kalyani later shared her mother's post on Instagram Stories and captioned it, "Here's a day that's got its own room in my memory palace."

Lissy returned to acting for the Kalyan Jewellers commercial after a long hiatus. A making video released by the jewellery brand showed her being welcomed on set by Kalyani and sharing warm moments with Priyadarshan during script discussions and filming.
Lissy made her acting debut in 1982 with Ithiri Neram Othiri Karyam, directed by Balachandra Menon. She first teamed up with Priyadarshan in the 1984 comedy Odaruthammava Aalariyam and went on to star in several of his films, including Parayanumvayya Parayathirikkanumvayya, Onnanam Kunnil Oradikkunnil, Boeing Boeing, Aram + Aram = Kinnaram, Punnaram Cholli Cholli, Thalavattam, Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, Hello My Dear Wrong Number, Dheem Tharikida Thom, Cheppu and Vellanakalude Nadu. Their final collaboration was the 1988 Mohanlal-starrer Chithram, widely regarded as one of the most iconic films in Malayalam cinema.
Priyadarshan and Lissy married in 1990 and separated in 2016 after 26 years of marriage. They have two children, including actor Kalyani Priyadarshan, best known for headlining the record-breaking Malayalam blockbuster Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. The reunion on screen follows months of speculation about Priyadarshan and Lissy getting back together. The former couple have been spotted together at several public events this year, including filmmaker Sibi Malayil's son's wedding in January. Lissy also shared a photograph with Priyadarshan and Mammootty from her Chennai studio in March, further fuelling rumours of a reconciliation.
