Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has two films set to release consecutively later this year. His next immediate release is i, Nobody, directed by Nisam Basheer and co-starring Parvathy Thiruvothu. The film is slated for a July 09 release in theatres. His other film is Khalifa, directed by Vysakh, which is slated for an August 20 release.

Prithviraj has been on a break from direction duties since the March 2025 release of L2: Empuraan, his ambitious sequel to 2019's blockbuster Lucifer, starring Mohanlal. While the filmmaker-actor, writer Murali Gopy, and producer Antony Perumbavoor had revealed that a third part to the film would happen, there has been no sign of when production on it would start.

However, in a recent interview, Prithviraj Sukumaran said that the film is certainly happening. Speaking to The Cue Studio, the actor-filmmaker said that L2: Empuraan was always conceived as 'a midpiece' of a three-part franchise. "We were not confident about whether there would be a second and third part while doing Lucifer. However, we had the confidence that we would be able to do its third part while shooting Empuraan," Prithviraj said.

He added that it was decided to keep the story arc of Empuraan up to a particular point with a third part in mind. "Murali has a clear idea about the story for the third part, and he has shared it with me and is very excited about it and we want to do it," the actor-director said.

However, Prithviraj also noted that it would be challenging for him to find a time window to work on the project. It is worth noting that the actor also has films such as Varanasi with SS Rajamouli, Odiyan: The Age of Illusion with Rahul Sadasivan, a Khalifa sequel, and more projects in the pipeline.
