Through a short note on social media, Mammootty posted about his Padma Bhushan win. Mammootty's Padma Bhushan win is his second Padma Award after his Padma Shri win in 1998.
"My gratitude to the Motherland. 'Padma Bhushan'. My heartfelt thanks to the nation, the people, and the Government for honoring me with this civilian honour. Republic Day Wishes to everyone," wrote the actor through his X handle.
The actor was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his distinguished service of the highest order for art.
Along with Mammootty, singer Alka Yagnik and adman Piyush Pandey were awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Mammootty was recently seen in Kalamkaval, alongside Vinayakan. He also made a cameo appearance in Chatha Pacha. He will next be seen in Mahesh Narayanan's Patriot, alongside Mohanlal. Mammootty will also reunite with Adoor Gopalakrishnan for Padayatra.
